Are 800 numbers on prepaid cell phones free?

I used to be charged for 800 numbers (for air time) in my previous Voicestream cell phone. Recently I acquired TMobile on a Nokia phone with prepaid service. I am almost positive an occasional 800 number call that I may NEED to make, will count me minutes off my service. Does anybody know this to be a fact now? That’s the way it used to be.

Yes, calling an 800 number will cost you minutes. The only 800 number you can call without using minutes is to call T-Mobile’s 800 number.

A call to an 800 number will cost you the same amount of minutes as a local call. 800 only means you won’t be charged a fee for calling, and you won’t be charged for long distance.
