Does any one know how prepaid cell phones work?
I want to get one and the one i want is a Target… but i need to know if you can text still with a prepaid phone.
its a virgin mobile phone!
i can’t get a regular plan because my parents don’t know i’m getting one and if they find out they will take it away from me…and i also dont want the bill to come to the house and them acting all wierd asking me questions and whatnot.
prepaid works on the same technology as post paid, the only difference is ur usage is restricted to ur payments prior to its use.
u will be allowed to use till u have balance in ur sim card.

it’s just like a regular cell phone but you have to buy minutes (they look like a credit card) you put the minutes on your phone and you use your phone like any other cell phone until the minutes are up and you have to buy more

Its Kinda Like You Pay 100 Bucks And They Give You 50 Minutes, And 50 Texts.
Then Once You Use All That Up, You Go Back To The Store And Pay For More.

im not sure with any other prepaid phones but i know for verizon prepaid, you can text its just every opened text is a minute, and every sent text is a minute too. so you probably would run out of minutes pretty quickly. and there are no texting plans for verizon prepaid.

i have net 10 !! yes you can text and make calls just like a cell !! the only thing diff is you cant do the stuff on tv like ring tones and wallpapers.

My little boy has a prepaid virgin mobile phone and you can text with it, it costs 10 cents per text and the call are 18 cents per minute , Go to metropcs.com and check out there plans it works out better than pre paid and there’s no contract and 35 dollars for unlimited talk and text EDIT: metropcs doesnt bill you, you wont get anything in the mail, you make your payment online the same day each month and that’s it, it’s a far better deal trust me.

depends on which phone you get and who is the provider. Most cell phones today including prepaid offer texting, but at an extra charge. I believe one of the best deals is boost mobile. but i would look around to all the major carriers and see what there plans are on prepaid phones.

Whether or not you can text depends on the phone company. You may want to research whether the company allows that or not. I have a prepaid phone from T Mobile, and I can text with it.

You can still text people but it’s going to be pricey if you text a lot. I used to have a prepaid and it didn’t work so well for me because I texted soo much. I paid like 100$ a month for it (Two $50 prepaid cards a month.) If you think you’re going to text a lot I recommend you get a plan. I have a plan now and it’s A LOT cheaper, I pay $60 dollars a month for unlimited texting AND 200 minutes, so it’s heaps better. Or if you don’t want a plan be willing to pay a lot for a prepaid.

yes you can. You loose so many minutes per call and text. You go to a store and get a card with info in it, and then you have to call the code into your phone.
