What’s the difference for prepaid cell phones?

My family is looking for two phones, are first cell phones. On T-mobile it has a plan for prepaid phones, Unlimited Text and $0.10/minute. Link: http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/plans/prepaid-plans.aspx?WT.mc_n=PrePdPlnsOvrMain&WT.mc_t=OnsiteAd
Does it have to be pay as you go? I’m not sure I understand. Can someone clarify?

A prepaid mobile phone is a mobile phone for which credit is purchased in advance of service use. The purchased credit is used to pay for mobile phone services at the point the service is accessed or consumed. If there is no available credit then access to the requested service is denied by the mobile phone network. Users are able to top up their credit at any time using a variety of payment mechanisms.

there plans that are pay as you go and there are others that are prepaid.

I have a prepaid phone from virgin mobile. I usually only use it for very important calls, since I rarely use the phone. Every month a put 20 which gets me 200 minutes, if I don’t use all the minutes and add more minutes before my minutes expire, the ones that I still have they roll over.

The plan you are looking into is good since it has the unlimited texting. The one I have does not have those, since I don’t add minutes for that.

it is fairly easy and it saves you a lot of money. Specially if you can’t pay one month there no problem you don’t have to worry about your phone been disconnected. You can’t make calls or receive calls but you still have your number. You can add minutes whenever you have the money to do so.

kajeet is great. They have prepaid, no contract service. It’s marketed toward kids because they offer free parental controls on every account but I know plenty of adults that use the service too.

Here are a few of the plans they offer…
$4.99 plan offers 10 talk minutes and 0.10c a min after that.
$14.99 Unlimited text and 60 talk
    $50.00 Unlimited text and talk

I found a coupon code for 15% off any phone… Promo code: 1115

Net10 is the best by far…10c per minute to call anywhere in the States with no roaming fees, 15c per minute to call any one of 100 overseas countries and 3c to send or receive a text! There are 20 phones in the Net10 line up and you can even have a qwerty slider phone from Net10 if that’s your dream!
